Swamp deer and tigers in the Dudhwa landscape.Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary is part of the Dudhwa Tiger Reserve complex in the Terai region of Uttar Pradesh, close to the Nepal border. Its grasslands, sal forests, and the scenic Jhadi Taal wetland make it one of the best places in India to see the endangered swamp deer, or barasingha, gathered in large herds. Kishanpur also holds a strong tiger population and abundant birdlife, and its compact, uncrowded setting makes it a rewarding companion to Dudhwa and Pilibhit on a Terai wildlife circuit.
Best Time to Visit
November to April, when the Terai grasslands are at their finest and large herds of swamp deer gather around Jhadi Taal, with excellent tiger and bird activity.

How to Reach
