Ramgarh Vishdhari Tiger Reserve
Rajasthan's newest tiger reserve.Set in the Bundi district of Rajasthan, Ramgarh Vishdhari spreads across the forested hills, plateaus and river valleys of the Aravalli-Vindhya belt. Notified as India’s fifty-second tiger reserve in 2022, it sits between Ranthambore and Mukundra Hills and forms a vital corridor for tigers dispersing across the region. One of the country’s youngest reserves, Ramgarh Vishdhari offers a raw, uncrowded landscape for travellers keen to explore Rajasthan’s emerging tiger frontier.
Best Time to Visit
The reserve follows the usual Rajasthan season, open from October to June and closed through the monsoon from July to September. November to February is the most comfortable time to visit, while the warmer months of March to June draw wildlife toward water and can improve big-cat sightings.
Zones
Safari access runs through designated buffer and tourism zones spread across the Bundi and Bhilwara stretches of the reserve. As a recently notified reserve, its tourism circuit is still taking shape, and routes are assigned at the time of booking.
How to Reach
Ramgarh Vishdhari lies in the Bundi district of Rajasthan. Kota is the nearest major railhead and airport, around 70 km away, while Jaipur airport is roughly 200 km from the reserve for wider connections, with road transfers onward.

Wildlife
The reserve supports Bengal tiger, leopard, sloth bear, striped hyena, wolf, jackal, chinkara, sambar, chital, nilgai and wild boar, along with crocodiles in its water bodies and a diverse community of birds across its forests and ravines.
Safari Types
Safaris run in six-seat Gypsy jeeps with morning and afternoon drives, each lasting about three hours. Being a young and lightly visited reserve, it rewards patience and a knowledgeable naturalist; advance booking is recommended.
