Jhalana Leopard Reserve
Urban leopards in the heart of Jaipur.Jhalana Leopard Reserve is a compact forest right on the edge of Jaipur, one of the first dedicated leopard reserves in India and among the easiest places anywhere to photograph wild leopards. This small pocket of dry deciduous forest holds a surprisingly dense leopard population that has adapted to life beside the city, offering remarkably frequent and close daytime sightings. With short travel times from Jaipur and high success rates, Jhalana has become a favourite of wildlife photographers and a superb introduction to leopard safaris in Rajasthan.
Best Time to Visit
October to June, with the cooler months from October to March most comfortable and the hot summer offering especially high leopard activity around waterholes.

The reserve is a compact single forest block explored on jeep tracks, with morning and afternoon safaris running through the core leopard habitat close to Jaipur city.
How to Reach
Jhalana sits within Jaipur city itself, only about 15 to 20 minutes from most hotels. Jaipur has its own airport and major railway station, making access extremely easy.
